Laptop Loans and WiFi Support

Limit Supply of Laptops & WiFi JetPacks Available for Winter Session & Spring Semester.

As the fall semester winds down, a reminder that  Information Technology has a limited supply, available to Montclair State students, of laptops and Verizon WiFI JetPacks to loan for Winter Session and the spring semester.

Laptop Loans

Please only request a laptop if you need one for your coursework, as we have a limited supply available. If you do not have access to a personal computer, tablet or a computer lab (View Computer Lab Locations and Hours) to complete your coursework, follow the directions below to request a loaner laptop.

WiFi Support

Information Technology also has a limited number of “mifi” mobile hotspot devices (Verizon JetPacks) to loan if you do not have internet access at home and cannot enable the hotspot feature of your smartphone.

Please Note: The Verizon JetPack has a monthly data cap of 25Gb so you are strongly encouraged to use it only for essential course-related internet activity and not for non-course-related data-intensive activities such as Netflix, YouTube streaming, etc.

How to Request a Loaner Laptop or Verizon JetPack

Request a Loaner Laptop

  • You must complete the request form before coming to campus.
  • You will be required to authenticate using your University NetID.
  • Select the Long Term Laptop Loan Request Option from the Drop Down.

Request a Verizon JetPack

  • You must complete the request form before coming to campus.
  • JetPacks will be activated within 24 hours (Monday-Friday) of pickup.

How Do I Pick Up the Laptop and/or JetPack?

Preparing for Pick Up

  • You must follow University safety protocols for coming to campus including wearing a face covering, practicing social distancing and completing Hawk Check the day before coming to campus.

Pick Up

  • Location: University Hall, 5th floor, Laptop Lending Lab (UNIV-5008)
  • Time: Pick up during open lab hours

Please Note: When picking up your loaner laptop you must: 

  • Show your University ID card and a copy of your student schedule.
  • Log into the laptop prior to leaving the campus.

Already Have a Loaner Laptop?

If you currently have a laptop or WiFi JetPack on loan and are scheduled for courses during Winter Session and/or spring semester, you were sent an email from Information Technology detailing the automatic extension of your loan until Thursday, May 13, 2021.

If you currently have a laptop or WiFi JetPack and are NOT registered for courses during Winter Session and/or spring semester, you must return your loaned equipment by Monday, December 14, 2020.

WiFi Access on Campus

A reminder that the campus is open and students can use the University WiFi for free.
