The technology problems affecting the Montclair campus have been fixed. All online systems and campus phones are operational.

Users who encounter any problems should contact the IT help desk at 973-655-7971 or itservicedesk@montclair.edu. It will be open on Saturday and Sunday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. and will be closed for the holiday on Monday.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and thank our information technology team for their efforts.

Previously reported:
Around 7 p.m. on Friday, January 12, 2024, the Montclair campus lost connection to the internet due to a bug in a software update and a hardware failure in the data center. The Bloomfield campus phones and network were not affected.

The internet connection was restored overnight. However, not all systems are fully back online.

As of 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 13, some online applications and services remain unavailable. In addition, Montclair campus phones are working but sound quality issues have been reported.

Calls coming in to University Police may have poor sound quality. If it is an emergency and you are having trouble reaching University Police, hang up and dial 911.

IT is working to fix these problems and restore full service as soon as possible. Everyone’s patience is appreciated.

The University will provide more information as this situation continues. Watch for Red Hawk Alert texts and email messages.
