Phishing scam alert (direct deposit)

Information Technology has been alerted to a *phishing scam* targeting many Montclair State employees asking them to update their direct deposit information. The message, with the subject *ACTION REQUIRED: Update Direct Deposit.” or “ALERT: Update Direct Deposit”,  contains a link to a fake online form that seeks to collect bank account and ATM PIN information from victims.

If you have received a similar email message but did *not respond* with any information, it is safe to just delete it.

However, if you responded to the scam by providing personal information, account credentials, or bank account information, please contact your local academic technology teams or contact the IT Service Desk at 973-655-7971 or by email at itservicedesk@montclair.edu.

ANY email you receive asking for such information, regardless of the alleged source, should be considered fraudulent and deleted immediately.
