Statement of Purpose

The Student Handbook contains information, regulations and policies of importance to both undergraduate and graduate students in their relationship with Montclair State University. All students are expected to be aware of and abide by the contents of the handbook. The handbook is updated annually. On occasion sections may be revised prior to the annual update of the handbook.

Welcome to Montclair State University!

Your education and your academic progress should be the most important focus of your university experience, and this handbook contains information that will assist you in achieving your educational goals. At the same time, the University offers many other opportunities to enable you to explore interests that will complement your academic endeavors and enrich your life. This handbook will provide you with information to assist in your exploration.

As a community, Montclair State University has developed some rules intended to help us in living and working together as harmoniously as possible. Because it is your responsibility to know these regulations, please read through the handbook carefully and then bookmark the link so you can refer to it regularly.

I encourage you to participate as fully as possible in the life of our campus, both intellectually and socially. I look forward to meeting with you during the coming year.
