TEACHER PROGRAMS / CHILD CARE SERVICES
CHILDREN'S CENTER
The Children's Center is an exciting, inviting, safe and nurturing environment where children and teachers can investigate and explore a wide variety of materials and activities.
It provides inclusive early care and learning for approximately 200 children who are between three months and six years of age. Among its services are child care, early intervention for infants and toddlers, and inclusive special education services for preschools. It's forty-five professional staff members work closely with faculty members and actively participate in the pre-service education of Montclair State University students by offering guided observations, supervised clinical hours and mentoring.
The Children's Center is open to University students, faculty and staff as well as to the community. The Children's Center, located on Clove Road, is open from 7:30 a.m. to 6:15 p.m. For further information and fees, contact Tara Evenson Jo Director at (973) 655-7177.

The Center of Pedagogy
oversees the direction and coordination of all aspects of initial teacher certification programs offered at Montclair State. The Center is administered by the Director of the Center of Pedagogy and includes several departments and organizations, including Teacher Education Admissions and Retention, the Teacher Education Advocacy Center, the Fieldwork Department, the MSU Network for Educational Renewal, the Urban Teaching Academy, and the Agenda for Education in a Democracy. In addition, the Center offers scholarships and awards and provides career/certification advisement to students in the teacher education program. The Center Director chairs the Teacher Education Policy Committee, which consists of faculty representatives from the arts and sciences,education and the schools. The Teacher Education Program Handbook outlines the policies and procedures for teacher certification at Montclair State and can be accessed on the Center of Pedagogy website. The Center of Pedagogy also oversees the operation of the ADP Center for Teacher Preparation and Learning Technologies, which includes three Classrooms of the Future, an Instructional Technology Lab, a Computer Teaching Lab, and the Curriculum Resource Collection - a repository of print and video education resources for teacher education students, University faculty/staff, and school district faculty/staff.
